Since founding Productivity Centers International (PCI) in 1985, William (Bill) Sandras has provided his consulting expertise to organizations throughout the world in manufacturing, health care, engineering, software development, insurance, natural resources, transportation, distribution, administration, and customer service.

Bill engages people at all organizational levels to help them safely and quickly convert their visions for change into reality. With senior management, he employs the seven Management and Planning Tools to help them develop strategies, and then translate them into actionable and measurable steps. He shows organizations how to streamline flows, and reduce defects and variation (i.e., reduce wastes), using Lean principles and techniques, and the seven core Six Sigma problem solving tools. Sandras’ Rapid Breakthrough Events© (RBE) are based on over 40 years of leadership and process improvement experience.

Sandras began his career with Continental Oil Co. as a computer systems/programmer analyst. He then worked for Hewlett-Packard for 16 years at five divisions in expanding management positions in IT, manufacturing, materials, software development, and marketing.  As an independent consultant, Sandras has worked for large and small clients throughout the world, including The Boeing Co., Eaton, Hallmark, JD Irving, LB Foster, Medtronic, Motor Coach, Motorola, NCR, Tellabs, and many others. He hosted two Lean learning trips to Japan for leaders from Virginia Mason and Park Nicollet health care organizations, and facilitated the Leadership Fellows development and world-class health care curriculum development for Park Nicollet.

Bill holds a Bachelor of Science degree with dual majors in Production Management and Statistics, and a Master of Business Administration degree in Management Science (Operations Research) from the University of Colorado. He served on the joint Lean certification development committee for the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, Association for Manufacturing Excellence, and the Shingo Prize for Operational Excellence, and is certified at the Gold Level. Previously he also served on the APICS JIT certification committee and passed at the Fellow Level. He was an Industry Week magazine best plant reviewer, has written many articles and given numerous speeches throughout the world (see Publications & Other Info). He is on the AME editorial board for their Target magazine, and is author of the acclaimed Lean how-to book titled "Just-in-Time: Making it Happen".
